World Book Day 2017

On Thursday 2nd March Dartmouth Academy celebrated World Book Day in style. Everyone dressed up as their favourite book character and had a fabulous day.

The primary school started their day with parents coming in to read to the children, then they had a hilarious assembly run by Mr Pembertons stand-in Mr Twit from Roald Dahls famous book. This was followed by a fun morning of book activities and quizzes.

Over the past 3 years we have had continuing support from Andrea and Kathy from Dartmouth Community BookShop, to supply every primary child with a book to take home using their book tokens. We handed out 245 books to the children through primary and year 7 in secondary. Thank you to the book shop for making this possible.

Thank you to all the parents for their support with some amazing costumes and the event raised £200 for the charity, Book Aid International.
