Last Tuesday 10th March, as part of the ongoing careers programme, Year 11 Academy students were invited to the South Devon College Careers Fair where they could explore the different vocational opportunities available at the College in preparation for their transition to Key Stage 5 in September. There were a range companies and organisations exhibiting at the fair from sectors such as marine engineering, hospitality, the NHS and many more offering training and apprenticeships. Many of the Dartmouth Academy Year 11 students after receiving 1:1 interviews, have applied for their places at various establishments offering Post 16 education starting in September. Several students in Year 11 will be starting their Level 3 BTEC Sports Science course in September here at Dartmouth using the facilities at the Academy and the Leisure Centre alongside Kingsbridge Community College students. This course enables students to progress to employment in the sports and leisure industry or on to university to study degrees from Journalism and Teaching to Physiotherapy. If any students wish to have a chat about their future options, please come and speak to Mrs Pigott based in the Dart Sixth Form Centre or in room F043 at lunchtimes.
