Class 3/4T
Meet the Class 3/4J teacher...
Mrs K Taylor

Mr M Jeffries

In Class 3-4J,  the class are taught by the class teacher Matt Jefferies and supporting full time by our Learning Support Assistant Debbie Simpson.  She helps us learn and understands us too.

The class are fortunate to have Miss Corbun-Lewis teach them RE and PSHE and have Specialist Teachers whom deliver PE and also Art, DT and Music throughout the year.

Our day starts at 9:50 with reading where some children are also able to access Intervention groups and Individualised support. This may be computer based program, extra reading or focused Maths, Literacy or handwriting support. We always then do Maths before break and Literacy after break before stopping for lunch.

We go to lunch at 12:00 noon and have an almost an hour break. After lunch, we have Guided Reading time, Primary Assembly and our other lessons which will normally be linked to our current International Primary Curriculum topic.

Great behaviour and learning is rewarded with House Points which contribute to the whole school totals and marbles for our class marble jar.  We also sit in mixed ability groups with 4 pupils where we compete and learn to be cooperative learners and earn table points.

Home Learning is expected in the form of daily reading, which should be recorded in the Home Learning Diary and learning spellings which are given out on a Friday and tested each Friday. Home Learning also takes the form of online activitives, including SPAG tests using, MyMaths set activities where pupils should use the Lesson tool to support their learning independently.  We sometimes ask for some prior learning linked to our topic and often, pupils will choose to do this independently anyway which is great.

We enjoy trying to be the best we can be and Year 3 and 4 is an age where we work really hard to try to work to please ourselves and be more and more independent, so we’ll be ready to for all the hard work and challenges to come in future.
