On Friday 24th March, we raised money for Red Nose Day 2017 and Dartmouth Academy Friends (DAF).
We asked all pupils to come to school in 'mufti' for a minimum of £1.00 to go towards the Red Nose Day Charity. There were a number of fundraising activities, including a cake sale at break times and after school.
Children in the Primary Phase took part in a Bouncathon.
We raised a fantastic £1337.36 for Comic Relief and DAF!
Belgian storyteller Iwan Kushka and guitarist William Benzies have been working with the Academy providing musical storytelling workshops. Year 8 have been working collaboratively with school children in Syria and Palestine, and the project culminated this week in a Skype session, where the children abroad sang Happy Birthday to one of our pupils, Louise Dawe-Smith in Arabic!
You will have now received the options for your child's education in year 10 and 11. There is absolutely no need to do anything with regard to their education at Dartmouth, everything will continue as it has done in year 9.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either their tutor or Mrs Heard, Student Achievement Manager.
There are a number of pupils who have been seen riding around in Dartmouth on skateboards/scooters and bikes with no helmets or lights. Please can we ask that you reinforce the Highway Code at home - and not just memorising the words, but by practicing and explaining the code to your children.Do you know it? Do you follow it? The code is for everyone to keep our children safe..
January saw the launch of our new House Point system and for the last 12 weeks, pupils in Mayflower, Beagle and Britannia have been extremely busy earning house points to go towards an end of year treat. After a hard fought battle this term, Britannia have reigned supreme, closely followed by Beagle and then Mayflower.
What a treat to be able to see all our pupils up to the age of 16 years, showing their commitment to participation, leadership, and improving their attendance.
