Sir David Carter, South West Commissioner for Schools visited Dartmouth Academy on Thursday 2nd October and after his visit, he took to the popular social media site, Twitter, commenting that the Academy is “one of the best models of an all-through academy structure I have seen. One complete school not 2 co-located.
”Sir David took up this new role for the Department for Education in September, making him the education lead for the department across the region.
Over three afternoons last week, we ran a book fair in the Academy Library. Many students and their parents visited the book fair to browse through and buy books provided by Scholastics. Class 5/6P are holding a special Harvest Festival assembly on the morning of Wednesday 8th October to which Years 5 and 6 parents have been invited. Pupils in Mr Pemberton's class have been busy collecting tinned food for for the event that will be donated to Dartmouth Food Bank. If any other parents would like to make any contributions of tinned food that will be passed on to the charity, they will be gratefully received. Thank you.
